Each year, billions of pounds of coffee cherry pulp, husks and skins are a left over in green coffee bean production. Composting for fertilizer is one option to utilize the fruit, however, more uses are needed to avoid potential harm to the atmosphere, waterways and soil systems from the remaining fruit as it decomposes. In this 1-hour webinar we learn how the production of Coffee Flour helps solve these issues by removing the remaining fruit from landfills and streams and converting it into a nutrient-dense culinary ingredient extremely high in fiber, antioxidants, iron, potassium, calcium, and protein while being very low in fat. Coffee Flour also delivers measurable social and economic benefits to coffee farmers by paying for a part of the fruit that was not previously considered in coffee’s economic model, and at mills where new jobs have been created.
